I never thought of it that way before!

For all of us who loved Pray magazine, which went out of publication a couple of years ago, there is good news. About a year ago, a new magazine came upon the scene called Prayer Connect. It is affiliated with the Church Prayer Leaders Network, and many of the folks involved with it are the same great folks that were involved with Pray.

In the latest issue I read an article by Sandy Mayle entitled "Out of the Unholy Din" that made me think about something in a way that I had never thought about it before. God hears everything (I knew that) which means that everywhere on the planet, around the clock, He hears not only our praises and blessings, but the voices and words of all those who revile and curse Him, slander His name and the work of His beloved children, and many other horrible verbalizations. The writer concludes: “Small wonder, I realized, that every praise is precious to Him.”

Indeed! I don’t know about you, but one of the things that I do in my job is to hear and investigate complaints from customers about the people and situations under my supervision. This is rarely a pleasant task. I know how good I feel when someone comes up to me and says something about what one of my people has done right, or how they have been helpful, or how much they appreciate the environment that we have created at our park for them and their family to enjoy. This article made me realize that certainly God must feel that same way.

The writer of Hebrews tells us:

“Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God” (13:15, NLT)

And the Psalmist further says:

Praise the Lord!

How good to sing praises to our God!

How delightful and how fitting!

(Psalm 147:1 NLT)

Indeed, how fitting! So let us give the God we love something better than what He is hearing from the world. Let’s put a smile on His face with our praise. Let's stop right now and give our heavenly Father a good word of praise!
Thanks for sharing this moment with me today.

P.S. if you want to read the article mentioned above, or to subscribe to Prayer Connect, or to purchase an individual copy, you can do so by going to www.prayershop.org where you will find this excellent magazine as well as a host of other great prayer resources.
